Tip of the Day Tear the edges of cardstock to give your layout some depth. It's an inexpensive way to embellish your pages, not to mention a good way to recycle left over paper. Find a space in your house to call your own to scrapbook in. It should be off-limits to all but you. Just make sure you are well organized. If your space is small, the clutter will most definitely overwhelm you. Arrange your photos and embellishments on your layout to get an idea of how it should look. Once you have made your placement decision, glue them down. Start a scrapbooking club! Gather some friends who love to scrapbook, pick someone to host, and get together once a month (once a week would be more fun!). Make it potluck and take turns hosting. It's a great way to get some scrapbooking done! Jot down the date and subject on the back of your photographs as soon as they return from the printers. This takes some of the guesswork out of scrapbooking. Store opened adhesive dots in zippered storage bags to keep them from getting dirty, which could prevent the dots from sticking. Store your pens horizontally for best results. Store your albums away from sunlight and fluorescent light. This will ensure that your colors and photos will not fade. When your scissors become dull, use them to cut aluminum foil to sharpen them up! Stay away from glue sticks when you are scrapbooking. Over time the adhesive will fail and your photos will come away from your pages. In other words, if it's in your child's craft box, don't use it! |
